A little about Diane

A native of Washington, D.C., and raised in northern Virginia, Diane has been practicing law for nearly 30 years.  She received her undergraduate degree from Marquette University (Milwaukee, Wisconsin), and her law degree (J.D.) from the University of Maryland School of Law.  Before graduating with honors, Diane was Managing Editor of the Maryland Law Review and served on the Moot Court Board.

In private practice in Baltimore, Maryland, Diane litigated a number of cases, including contract, defamation, and products liability defense while at Piper & Marbury (now DLA Piper).  She had experience in both state and federal court, trial and appellate levels.  She also served briefly as an Assistant U.S. Attorney (District of Maryland).

In 1997, Diane moved to Canada, where she served as general counsel for technology companies, advising on matters ranging from intellectual property, and contract law, to employment law.

Diane and her husband Don moved to the Northern Neck in 2013, where they built and opened Erica Mall, a small rural convenience store outside of Montross.

Diane is licensed to practice in Virginia and Maryland.
